As many as 1,620 Porsches of all ages took part in Sunday’s event, up from 1,003 at last year’s Simply Porsche rally. The sun came out and so did a record number of cars for a 62 per cent upturn for Beaulieu’s Simply Porsche. A selection of Porsche 356s from the 1950s and 1960s could be found parked up with examples of the V8-powered 928, the high performance GT3 and GT4, the Cayman and open-top Boxster and Spyder. 911s ranging from the 1960s up to the very latest incarnations were well-represented in the line-up. Beaulieu One Hundred members popped through for the truly stunning day.

Next up will be Beaulieu’s summer exhibition, The Art of Kustom, featuring incredible creations from the imagination of car customiser Andy Saunders, which will be launched at Father’s Day’s Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day on Sunday June 17th. This is such a fabulous retro event with echoes of Revival where there will be live music throughout the weekend, with Isle of Wight-based vocal quartet Company B-UK performing 1940s swing numbers that are sure to get your toes tapping, while six-piece band The Shakeups! will perform classic rock, soul, doo-wop and jangle pop hits on Sunday.

      
To get into the vintage groove, across the weekend there will be live music, dancing and a vibrant two-day Vintage Village by Bows & Braces packed with nostalgic collectables, records, jewellery, luggage, kitchenware and retro clothing from the 1920s to the 1980s. Put on your glad rags and come along dressed in vintage clothing, get a perfect retro hair-do to complete your glamorous look at Paula’s Vintage Parlour.

12th June – Members will be visiting Mike Hawthorn Museum.
25th July – Classic Motor Cars up in Shropshire, opens its doors to us and includes a visit to the Marches Centre of Manufacturing & Technology which is run by a consortium of Classic Motor Cars, Grainger & Worrall, In-Comm Training and Salop Design & Engineering, and provides a high-tech environment for individuals to learn from engineering experts in the latest technology.
