Due to the rich coach-building tradition in Newport Pagnell along with the niche skill set predominant in the area, it made sense for the luxury brand Aston Martin to choose this area for its HQ in the early 60’s – and for the members of Beaulieu One Hundred to have The Heritage centre on their list of places to visit!

Aston Martin Works, is still a hotbed of hand craftsmanship and traditional skills and is the largest, best equipped and most knowledgeable heritage restoration centre in the world, and now, the brand’s celebrated Continuation projects are manufactured here. Each car is being constructed to the highest possible quality using a blend of Sir David Brown-era old world craftsmanship and the sympathetic application of modern engineering advancements and performance enhancements.

Afterwards they then met for lunch at a delightful pub in Olney, with some popping over the road to visit  private restorer Desmond Smail to see how he does things in his workshop.

All in all a great way to spend a soggy miserable day!
